Exploring the depths of sustainability: Together with Saitec Offshore Technologies, we have just launched the "DemoSATH Lab" initiative to conduct further environmental studies on DemoSATH, a 2 MW operational floating offshore wind turbine installed 2 miles off the Spanish coastline.     This research investigates the platform's interactions with the environment, focusing particularly on bird interactions, underwater noise, and marine life. Such environmental studies will help us to ensure our future development of floating offshore wind is undertaken in coexistence with nature.

Howdy from Texas, where you can find our 209-megawatt Roscoe wind farm. The project has been up and running since 2008 and is now the cornerstone of our Roscoe Complex, a conglomerate of onshore wind farms that together make up a total installed capacity of 781.5 megawatts.

Since 2021, we have been powering three Polish breweries with wind energy. A large share of their electricity needs is covered by LECH Nowy Staw III. Located about 50 km southeast of Gdansk, its three turbines together have an installed capacity of 12 megawatts. This collaboration is a great testament to how we can support companies in their efforts to reduce carbon emissions while driving forward wind energy.

Joining forces for offshore wind: We have partnered with TotalEnergies on our OranjeWind project in the Netherlands and have now taken the investment decision. OranjeWind will be the first system integration project in the Dutch market. It aims to match intermittent wind power generation with flexible energy demand, thus contributing to grid stability. Offshore construction for the wind farm – with an installed capacity of 795 MW and a 50% stake for each partner – is scheduled to start in 2026. Full commissioning is expected in early 2028. OranjeWind will then produce enough green electricity to supply the equivalent of more than one million Dutch households.

Esther’s job is all about telling our story. She meets elected officials and citizens to explain the rationale for wind projects in their area and help them understand. And she loves that it’s not just herself who is passionate about our mission; she sees the same enthusiasm in the people all around her at RWE. Are you ready to play a part in the energy transition? Andalusia's high number of sunny days makes it a beautiful holiday destination — and the ideal home for our 92-megawatt photovoltaic plant, Gazules. Our largest solar project in Iberia spans a total area of 140 hectares, with around 240,000 bifacial solar modules installed. In less than two years, we have increased our solar capacity on the Iberian Peninsula to an impressive 300 megawatts. With the sun as a great partner in the green energy transition, we are excited about what comes next.

It's a wrap on our latest international Floating Wind Deep Dive event in Stavanger, Norway! More than 50 delegates joined us for an educational workshop, focused on the technical and environmentalaspects of floating offshore wind, and an offshore visit to the Marine Energy Test Centre (METCentre) to see our TetraSpar Demonstrator in action! This event enabled these stakeholders to learn about this new innovative technology, with the aim of ensuring a collaborative approach to developing our floating wind projects and a better understanding to inform decision-making. Thank you to all who attended and shared their expertise in floating wind technology and environmental consenting processes!
